Looking Ahead at the Maritime & Offshore Career Event 2018

It’s almost time: on Wednesday the 28th of March, the Maritime & Offshore Career Event (MOCE) takes place at WTC Rotterdam. It’s the twelfth edition, with lots of attention for offshore wind and inland shipping this year. Career opportunities within the entire supply chain are presented by over 100 companies to about 3,000 visitors, from students to professionals and from vocational to academic level. Focus on career

MOCE is proud to receive companies such as Van Oord, Damen Shipyards, Boskalis, Deme Group, Allseas and Marin. Also, new companies are looking for personnel on the 28th of March, such as Tennet, Kenz Figee Group and Smulders. The large demand for personnel in inland shipping shows at the inland shipping pavilion. New this year at MOCE. In cooperation with Bureau Voorlichting Binnenvaart, various inland shipping companies such as Wijgula, Quo Vadis, Interstream Barging, thyssenkrupp Veerhaven and TOS will present themselves to the visitors.

Case Studies and Company Presentations

Visitors get to know companies even better during one of the case studies or company presentations. Companies such as Feadship, Royal IHC, Van Oord and STC-KNRM challenge visitors to tackle a problem these companies face. During the presentations, companies such as Allseas, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind and Nogepa will tell more about their companies and working in the industry. A great chance to get informed about these top companies.

Job application tips and tricks

Besides the possibility to talk to many companies on the exhibition floor, there’s a lot more to discover. Students can also find traineeships and graduation assignments at the Internship Desk. New this year: the Experience Zone on the exhibition floor, where you can experience the future of the industry, for example through Virtual Reality.

ON AIR Talkshows at Community Square

With his energetic, sometimes wilful and sharp humor, Jan Versteegh, known from the tv show Wie is de Mol? will converse with professionals, young professionals and students from the industry. Subjects such as new technologies and developments that will transform the industry such as autonomous sailing and 3D printing of steal will be discussed. Also, career opportunities are discussed that the energy transition creates. Visitors can take place at the terrace of Community Square and join the conversation. Besides the talkshows, Inspirational Talks are also part of the program at Community Square. Jan-Willem van der Graaf, former CEO of Seaway Heavy Lifting and André Steenhuis, Vice President Innovations of Allseas take the stage.
