The geotechnical drilling vessel Dina Polaris was mobilised from the Middle East for this campaign which consisted of seabed and downhole cone penetration testing, with seismic testing, and downhole sampling.

Over a period of 81 days, Geoquip completed over 2,500m of deep seabed cone penetration testing and in excess of 2,000m of downhole testing.

Vineyard Wind LLC, a 50-50 joint venture company of Avangrid Renewables and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, is developing the 800MW Vinyard Wind offshore wind farm some 15 miles south of Martha’s Vineyard.

Vineyard Wind and the state’s Electric Distribution Companies have recently agreed on long-term contracts under which for the 800MW project will deliver electricity at a total levelized price of USD 65/MWh for energy and Renewable Energy Credits (RECs).

The contracts were sent to the state’s Department of Public Utilities (DPU) for review and approval on 31 July.

The Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) has recommended that DPU approves the long-term contracts.
